Dr. Kenneth Kim serves as the Executive Chairman and Founder of Ark Clinical Research, a late-stage multi-therapeutic clinical trial.
Dr. Kim, a summa cum laude graduate of Harvard College, received his MD from Harvard Medical School. Following a fellowship at the MIT Sloan School of Management, he completed his internal medicine and allergy/immunology training at UCLA and has served on the clinical faculty both at UCLA and UCI Schools of Medicine for over 15 years. Dr. Kim has served as a medical monitor, consultant, and investigator on over 800 clinical trials, having published over 30 research articles and 50 abstracts in peer reviewed journals. He has presented to decision-makers in the FDA, PMDA, SFDA, and KFDA. He is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of early stage clinical research, ethnobridging drug development strategy, influenza challenge, mold allergy, latex allergy, and COVID vaccine and treatments.
In his spare time, Dr. Kim enjoys traveling with his wife, Johanna, spending time with their four children, and photography.

Dr. Sven Wang
Dr. Sven Wang, MD is an allergist/immunologist dedicated to helping his patients live their fullest lives.
Dr. Wang earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His medical training took place at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he completed three years of Internal Medicine residency and two years of combined adult and pediatrics Allergy/Immunology fellowship. He has presented his research at national conferences and has special interests in chronic hives and healthcare disparities. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
Dr. Wang developed an early passion for medicine, inspired by his parents’ work as doctors in China. He became interested in allergy medicine as he personally dealt with seasonal allergies and chronic hives while growing up. His clinical approach is rooted in personal experience: he uses many of the same medications he recommends to his patients on a daily basis, allowing him to relate to patients navigating their own allergies.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Wang enjoys running, weight-lifting, gardening, and cooking. He is conversational in Mandarin Chinese.
Dr. Betty Liu
Dr. Betty Liu grew up in Southern California. She attended the University of California, Berkeley for her undergraduate work and graduated with Honors in Molecular and Cell Biology and Public Policy.
Dr. Liu attended the University of California, San Diego for Medical School with her clinical training focused on Pediatrics. She completed her Pediatrics training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and her Allergy/Immunology training at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Dr. Liu has is both a Board-Certified Pediatrician and Allergist/Immunologist.
Though she cares for patients of all ages, Dr. Liu has a special interest in Asthma and Food Allergies in children. She takes pride in working closely together with her patients to develop a treatment plan that is best for them. Dr. Liu is also an investigator in clinical trials for Asthma and Allergic Rhinitis.
In her free time, Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with her husband and twin daughters and enjoying all that Southern California has to offer.
Candace Cam
Candace Cam is a board-certified nurse practitioner with a passionate commitment to advancing patient outcomes through specialized clinical care and robust involvement in clinical research. Practicing since 2019, she is dedicated to guiding patients through complex health challenges using a foundation built on evidence-based practice and a holistic view of the individual.
A driving force behind Candace’s practice is her strong interest in clinical research and integrating the latest science directly into patient care. Her primary clinical and research focus lies in managing and improving care for patients with asthma and allergy. She is dedicated to investigating novel approaches to these chronic respiratory and immune conditions to ensure her patients benefit from the most current and effective treatments available.
In her personal time, she is an avid adventurer who enjoys traveling and exploring new foods.
Jennifer Ballinger, MD, MBA
Dr. Jennifer Ballinger is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with extensive clinical, academic, and research experience. She earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. She further specialized by completing an Ultrasound Fellowship at Kings County Hospital Center/SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Ballinger holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, equipping her with a strong foundation in healthcare management and strategic leadership.
Currently, Dr. Ballinger continues to practice emergency medicine while pursuing her growing interest in research.
Her work reflects a commitment to evidence-based care, innovation in clinical practice, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
